More Info needed on Web Scripts

I am new to alfresco development. I have a requirement of showing Category view Under Company Home in alfresco webclient. When Category View is clicked then It would list down all the contents using category (may be tree like structure as  given below).

My category view should be something like below in alfresco web client.
 
-MainCategory
  - SubCategory1
       -Test.xml
  - SubCategory2
       -Test1.xml

Basically i am looking for following information.
1. Can i acheive this using Freemarker Template/Java scipt.
2. If so, how do i incorporate Template result into the web client.
3. If not, please let me know what is the best way to acheive this.

Hi there,
check out opsoro and flexspaces, both use webscripts to generate treestructures for categories. That might help you.

As for integration - you will have to "hack" the jsps of the alfresco webclient, to include your own "subview" as well. AFAIK, Its not part of the configurations.
