Modified date folder or other property...

I've noticed that the modified date of a folder means  the date when that folder has been modified.
Seems logical, but wouldn't it be better that this date would display the date of the last modification of one of the folders/files that are in this folder?
e.g.
if you upload/modifies a file in alfresco, that all the parent spaces will get that modified date?
Or maybe use a new property for this?

Any comment on this?

That would result in a modified date change all the way up the parent chain until hitting the root node. So updating any item in a hierarchy would result in _all_ parents getting the modified date changed - right up to Company Home…

I don't think most file systems do that.

Thanks,

Kevin

Maybe it doesn't need to go all the way up,just to the parent space…
(just like in windows or other systems)
This would be more logical I think.
