Manually add profile info for LDAP users

Is there a way I can manually add some info for my users until the "LDAP users have no profile edit capabilities at all" bug is fixed? I'd like to roll Alfresco out soon, but with basic functionality like that missing, I'm afraid it will receive pushback from  management.

Edit: Profile Picture, Skype, Phone number would be nice.

Hmmmm. Nobody huh? I was hoping there was some sort of interim solution to this issue instead of waiting until May 26th.

I tried 3.3 and 3.3G from the nightly builds as well and it seems as though this hasn't been committed to SVN. Hopefully this makes it in soon as it's a major feature that makes it unfriendly to users who rely on quickly identifying co-workers through the avatars.

Where did you see that this might be possible come May 26th?  We would like this ability as well.
