Hi,
I am logged in as 'admin' and I followed the instructions from 'Help' to get to the Manage User Groups. Strange thing is that it is missing from my menu! Is it just my installation or is this a bug?
I see the Hosted Trial version has a lot of user groups in the system. Mine has only 'EVERYONE'. I got only:
o MANAGE SYSTEM USERS
o CATEGORY MANAGEMENT
o IMPORT
o EXPORT
o SYSTEM INFORMATION
o NODE BROWSER
–
By default only an Administrator can create a user group.
To create a user group:
1. Navigate to a content space.
2. In the space info area, from the menu under More Actions, select Administration Console graphic .
3. Click Manage User Groups graphic.
4. In the manage system users summary area, click Create User Group graphic .
5. In the create group dialog, type the necessary information then click Create Group.
Note: You cannot change the identifier for a group.

You're probably running the Community edition of Alfresco. You can check by looking at the version number in the admin console.
Btw, take a look at http://forums.alfresco.com/viewtopic.php?t=1421 to see our plans for providing all functionality in the community edition.

Oh … ic. Yes I am running the community edition. It would be helpful then to have the limitations highlighted in the help doc!
So now should I uninstall the Community Edition and intall the Enterprise edition or just install the Enterprise Edition over the Community Edition?
Thanks.
