Making subtype changes

Hi guys.

I had a custom type called "Type A" and its parent is cm:content.

In an update to the model after it had been deployed, I created two new types, "Master Type" with cm:content as a parent, and "Type B" with "Master Type" as its parent. I then changed the share-config to make "Type A" a subtype of "Master Type", as well as the new "Type B",

Because "Type A" is not a child of "Master Type" should this model still work, or does a subtype also have to be a child of the master type?

Hope this makes sense.
Appreciate any help.

Not able to understand clearly. Could you provide some diagram to explain it?
Only thing needs to keep in mind is that cm:content has to be the highest level in your hierarchy. You cannot have more then one parents.
