I am having trouble getting Document Connection to work.  I have been following this bug report  and see that the issue has been resolved.  However I am still having trouble getting Document Connection to work.  I have followed the directions posted in the documentation for setting up the SharePoint protocol to work with HTTPS.  I can add the site to Document Connection and it lists my site, but when I double click on the folder to access file I receive the following error:

You need to have a network connection and permission to complete this task.  Error: 234882824.

The following error is also written to the alfresco.log file.  Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

I am facing the same problem. I was using Version 4.0e and kept seeing this error message. I saw that this bug ALF-12061 has been fixed in Version 4.2, therefore decided to try it. However, I find that now (in Version 4.2b) I can only see the site names and no files. In the 4.0e version I could see the sites, files and open them, edit them.

I have not followed the Sharepoint HTTPS instructions, rather I have changed my Mac Office setting to accept basic auth over non-SSL connections.

I can also confirm this issue exists in 4.2.b, Office for Mac 2011.

I follow the instruction on this Microsoft piece (http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-smallbusinesses/gg192873.aspx#bkmk_ConfigureOffice).  However, Microsoft Document Connector returns the error "You need to have a network connection and permission to complete this task.".  Trying to open the document via Edit Online causes Word for Mac 2011 to return "You do not have permission to complete this task".

I'm stuck.

Is this a matter of getting SSL/HTTPS to operate over the SharePoint protocol port, 7070?

EDIT:
I just saw this in alfresco.log after I tried to Edit Online from within Share:

I get the following using the local admin account. Using SSP + SSL. Just get prompted with all these login dialogs.
