I am just starting to learn Alfresco and find that it takes almost a minute to reboot Tomcat on my machine which adds a lot of time to the cycle of making changes and testing them.
Do most developers experience about this same to reboot Tomcat? Is there a way to speed it up? Is it necessary to reboot Tomcat to implement most changes or is there a shortcut?
A reboot time of 60 seconds is very very normal sadly. However, you only need to reboot the system for configuration & Java updates - Alfresco doesn't need to be restarted for javascript changes or webscript configuration changes.
