List of *all* users or sites?

I'm experimenting with Share, and there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to see a list of *all* users.

When logged in as admin, I click on "Admin Console, Users", the list simply says "Search for Users". I tried a wild-card "*" search, but that produced nothing. Same for "Sites"; there doesn't seem to be a way to get a list of all the sites available. If I go to "Admin Console, Groups", however, all groups are listed.

Am I missing something?

Thanks, B

The capabilities for searching inside of Alfresco are very "inconsistent" and give unexpected results often.

Share -> Site Search (the one at the upper right corner): seems to work with different combinations of wildcards, giving results as expected, list site- or usernames only as part of results (not as own results for a user or site)
Share -> Sites -> Search: only click on "Search", filling out the search field is not needed, wildcards senseless ("abc" give more results as "abc*"), "***" give no results
Share -> Members Search: minimum of given chars is 3, two "*" possible (i.e. "a**" or "*a*"), only wildcards not allowed ("***", no result)
Share -> Invite -> Search People: same as Members Search
Share -> Invite -> Search Groups: same as Members Search, but wildcards aren't working ("abc" works, "abc*" or "ab*" gives no result)
Share -> Invite -> Add Groups -> Search: same as above, but here wildcards are working again
Share -> Invite -> Add People -> Search: same as Members Search

Alfresco Web Client -> Admin Console -> Manage System  Users: "*" doesn't work, "a*" works fine, "Search All"-button available
Alfresco Web Client -> Admin Console -> Manage System  Groups: no search function available
Alfresco Web Client -> Space XYZ -> Manage Space Permissions -> Invite -> User: minimum of 2 chars required, with additional "*" less results then w/o, wildcard seems to deactivate search over usernames ("ab" lists results with users, whose only usernames containing "ab" too, "ab*" reports only users with "ab" in first- or lastname)  :?:
Alfresco Web Client -> Space XYZ -> Manage Space Permissions -> Invite -> Group: minimum of 2 chars required, wildcards work as expected, "**" is working too; strange: "EVERYONE" is every time included in the results  :?

So, thats the possibilities i know until today, but i'm shure, i'll found out something more later…  Smiley Very Happy
And maybe the Alfresco developers will work on this for later releases?…

PS: and for answering your question: the only ability i know to get all users is in "Alfresco Web Client -> Admin Console -> Manage System Users"

Mario

This is all being cleaned up for v3.3 - we realise it's a bit of a mess at the moment

Thanks,
Mike

Any idea when 3.3 will be available?

I am using 3.2r2, is there any workaround in the meantime? code change or otherwise?

Additionally, it would be nice to easily send out a mass email to all users regarding system issues.  we are using Share to allow external as well as internal collaborators to manage projects, and if I need to schedule downtime, it would be nice to notify all users that have been invited to all the sites.

Please raise this sort of enhancement request in JIRA - it will have little chance of being scheduled by Engineering if it's a forum post mid-thread.

Thanks,
Mike

Maybe one option would be the "Notify Space Users" function inside of the Alfresco Webclient. Execute it from out of the "User Homes" or your customized global user home folder. Creating a separate mail template should prevent you from spending too much time in the future for sending these mails.
