LinkValidationService not running

Fresh install of 3 community edition.  Updated to work on Oracle.  I am getting one warning in the tomcat logs.  OS is Windows.  Any ideas and do I need or want this running?

Userystem WARN  [alfresco.linkvalidation.LinkValidationServiceImpl] LinkValidationService Update is not running (virtualization server not registered or started)

The error message is telling us what the problem is - the virtualisation server is not registered or started, and the link checker requires the virtualisation server be available in order to function.  The first step in troubleshooting this is to ensure that the virtualisation server is indeed running, then check that it's correctly broadcasting its coordinates (IP address and port) to the main Alfresco authoring instance - the configuration for this is described at http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Virtualization_Server_FAQ#Can_the_virtualization_server_be_on_a_differ....
