Limiting users to one folder

Hello Everyone and Thanks in advance for your responses, this is my first post!

I have installed a working version of Alfresco, created my first site and have 3 users (all consumers) and 3 folders, one for each. I could not invite any users so I added them to a group and invited the group. Question is:

1) How can I restrict these 3 users from seeing each others folders? I log in under Admin. open one of the three folders and click on Manage Permissions and nothing happens.

Thanks!

10 views and no comments? This seems to be a basic issue…

Yes I am the admin, I have full control. Unfortunately the lowest permission user (called consumer) also has pretty much the same powers as the admin, it can create sites, invite people, see ALL FOLDERS (I cant stop him), upload files and basically create a mess in a place where he is supposed to be only a VIEWER or BROWSER of ONE SINGLE folder.

Hopefully there is a solution to my problem….

Hello there

When I clicked on 'Manage Permissions' of a folder, I see a modal pop up and it says something like this:

Manage Permissions for -folder name-
Groups and Privileges
Contributors have Contributor Privileges
Consumers have Consumer Privileges
Collaborators have Collaborator Privileges
All Other Users have Consumer Privileges

What you can do to edit their permission is to go to the drop down menu that says either "Contributor Privileges", "Consumer Privileges" or etc, and edit the permission from there. (choosing another item from the drop-down)

If you do not want them to see anything at all, you can choose "No Privileges"

Hope that helps a little Smiley Happy
