Limit number of versions

Is it possible to limit the number of versions retained. I have a frequently accessed file which i wish to have versionable. however I need to limit the number of versions to only the last 10. This way I can avoid an ever increasing number of copies of the raw data.

If it is one specific file only, you could use a Content Rule to trigger a javascript to remove older versions.

It's a critical feature for one of my clients and seems essential to management of Alfresco.
