LDAP authintication with dot in usernames

I have configured the LDAP authentication and synchronization and it does sync all my users successfully, but since my users have a dot in their active directory usernames, they can not login! some users who do not have dots can login with no problem.
To do a little test, I changed my username in active directory to remove the dot in it, restarted the service. Now the aflresco user base has me without dot in it, but surprisingly I can not login (even after removing the dot).

Any idea how this can be solved?

On the hand:
Please check if your users have a display name. I had similar problem where my users couldn't login because of that. It was very weird because the authentication worked, but they couldn't login. I remember that there was an exeption error about that in my catalina.out file, that's how I found out what the problem was and after some research on internet I managed to resolve it by adding display names to all users. After that no error msg, no problems loging in. Everyone was happy

that ".409" does not match the pattern you specify.

Try with:
ldap.synchronization.java.naming.security.principal=admin@domain.com
Instead of:
ldap.synchronization.java.naming.security.principal=uid=admin,ou=system
