Kepler keeps hanging when creating new Activiti Diagram

I'm using ArchLinux and the latest version of Eclipse kepler and Activiti Designer. But when I create a new Activiti Diagram in Eclipse, the program keeps hanging. The progress bar on the bottom right shows 'Remote System Explorer Operation' initially. After I googled about this problem and modified some preferences settings about eclipse-rse, this message disappeared, but the hanging problem is still unsolved.

I would like to upload some screenshot, but couldn't find the entry.

Sorry, the information 'Remote System Explorer Operation' is still there. How could I fix it?

Do you have xml validation on? Might be worth a try to disable it (http://www.jorambarrez.be/blog/2013/02/19/uploading-a-funny-xml-can-bring-down-your-server/ - eclipse has the same issue)

I have the same problem (not only with Kepler, but with previous Eclipse versions too.)
I've tried disabling XML Validation, but this doesn't solve the problem for me.

After I kill Eclipse and  reopen in - the process diagram appears to be there, but I can't do anything with it. Respective eclipse window seems to be frozen anyway.

This error window also pops up: http://i.imgur.com/b77MXIQ.png

last strings in eclipse .log file:

<code>!ENTRY org.eclipse.ui 2 0 2014-05-28 19:21:58.272
!MESSAGE Warnings while parsing the commands from the 'org.eclipse.ui.commands' and 'org.eclipse.ui.actionDefinitions' extension points.
!SUBENTRY 1 org.eclipse.ui 2 0 2014-05-28 19:21:58.272
!MESSAGE Commands should really have a category: plug-in='org.activiti.designer.kickstart.eclipse', id='org.activiti.designer.kickstart.command.refreshCmisNavigator', categoryId='org.activiti.designer.kickstart.eclipse.categor'</code>

Yes, I'm experiencing the same problem with you, every version of Eclipse will suffer from this issue. And it seems has nothing to do with malicious XML files, as I'm just creating new Activiti Diagrams, not importing an existing one.
And Eclipse will freeze after opening a .bpmn file too!
What's your OS type? Was it a Linux too? I'll try to run Activiti on Mac OS X later on. If it works well on Mac, I'll report it.

It's Arch, same as you

I have already tested Activiti Designer on Windows7-64bit + Eclipse kepler. The whole things work very well. No fault at all.
This is annoying, I'd prefer Linux as the development environment.
Had anybody using Arch or other distributions of Linux succeded on running Activiti Designer, please let me know!

As mentioned by @bidek - cups is needed for this to work.
