JCR Repository and XA Transaction

I'm developing an aplication and I need do a XA transaction with DBRM and JCR.
Can I do this with Alfresco's jcr?

Is the Alfresco JCR repo local to or embedded in your application?

I want to configure Alfresco JCR as a resource to all the web applications that are running inside a J2EE container by registering the repository as a resource adapter to the application server.

In future maybe i want to configure as a stand alone server and i connect it with RMI.
