Issue with playback of recorded audio on Mobile 1.4

There seems to be an issue with playback of recorded audio in v1.4.0.64. The environment is as follows:

Alfresco Community 4.2.b on Centos 6.3 x64
Alfresco Mobile 1.4 on iOS 6.0.1

When playing back audio files saved on the server, or downloaded to the device, the screen flashes and the file loops the first second of audio constantly. It alternates between the Quicktime Logo, the Play icon, and the last screen shown before the audio file would normally start playing.  The only way to stop is it to press the home button or to click the button what takes you back to the site that contains the audio file (or the Downloads button if it is a downloaded audio file). The app then shows a black Quicktime screen that says "Loading…', then the app goes back to the location of the audio file.  Recording audio still seems to work fine, and the recorded file can be played from the Upload screen.  The uploaded file also plays fine on the server.

Thanks for the report. A few questions:

Does the same file(s) playback ok in other apps (I.e. via email)
Did it/they play OK in 1.3

Yes, playback is fine in other apps, in Alfresco, and worked fine in 1.3.

It's possible this is mimetype-related, as we changed some code around there in 1.4 to resolve an unrelated issue.

I'll take a look today.

Thanks,
Mike

I can reproduce the issue on an iPhone running iOS 5.1.1 too, so I have raised MOBILE-1040 to track it. We hope to have this fixed for a 1.4.1 maintenance release in a few weeks.

Many thanks,
Mike
