Is MYSQL community Edition supported ?

I am planning to use Mysql community Edition5.x with Alfresco 3.4.5EE.
Is that supported?

Here is the page that lists what is supported for a given version of Alfresco:

MySQL Community versus Enterprise doesn't matter as much as the specific version.

I'm not part of the Support organization, so if you are still in doubt, submit a ticket and ask.
