Hi,

We are planning to use the alfresco in our web portal application. But we want to make sure that is it supports the MS Office 2007(word documents)?
Do we need to do something additional setting(patch)  to support MS office 2007.
Please send us your comments

Thanks and Regards,

Yes, we support Office 2007, including in our Office Plugin.  For metadata extraction and conversion, we support all types of files that are supported by OpenOffice (2007 included).

P.S. I deleted the other post you made with the same topic.

The Office plugin doesn't work as expected - it sends Microsoft Word content type for docx files instead of the proper Microsoft Word 2007 type.

Hi,
I'm facing a problem while searching the content of ms-word 2007 files (i.e .docx files).
And the same is working fine with ms-office 2003 (i.e .doc files).

And i have installed open office 3.0 on top of alfresco. But still it is not working?

Is there any additional configuration is required for this?

Hi , i've had same problem with office 2007 content searching on Labs 3c version on w2003, solved using Open office 3.0 and modifiyng files as wrote in previous post.
Now i'm facing the same problem using labs 3 stable on ubuntu 8.04 server. Also in this case i've followed same topics, installed Open office 3.01 but it doesn't work. No content searching and error on previewing document from web client.
Any ideas ?
Thanks
