Is it possible to integrate a DokuWiki in Alfresco?

I did not find any information in the internet - maybe I've overlooked it..
Is there a plugin or another way to integrate a DokuWiki in an Alfresco-ECM?

It should be possible to do this but the effort required will depend on exactly what you want to do. Do you just want to show doku wiki in the Share UI? Or maybe you want doku wiki to be separate, but store its file attachments in Alfresco? Or maybe you want all doku wiki content to live in Alfresco? Each has vastly different levels of effort associated with it.

In the past there have been efforts to integrate MediaWiki with Alfresco. It sort of fell by the wayside but a few people have shown interest recently. I'm mentioning it in case there are lessons learned with that effort that you could apply to your integration.

You're right - the question what "integration" means is very important.

Minimal requirements would be IMHO:

• The search in Alfresco (Share) needs to also find Wiki pages by content and display them as search results.


• Tags and categories used in Alfresco can also be used in the Wiki and be recognized by Alfresco as tags for sorting, filtering, etc.

Better implementation:

• The Wiki can be browsed and edited without leaving the Alfresco "GUI"


• Wiki content can easily be linked to Alfresco content (sites, documents, …)

It seems to be a tricky task, but for real collaboration, I think that powerful wiki and discussion forum features are necessary for an ECM.

Thanks for providing the links - do you know if there is a demo installation somewhere accessible publicly to see how the mediawiki integration works?
