Is it possible to develop widgets with Alfresco?

Hello,

I must make an application directly integrating an area CMS.

I'd like to know if it is possible to develop a widget that allows versioning and have a history of changes directly from my application using SDK or so if I have to separately integrate two part.

No need for a "widget".    

Versioning is already a service provided by Alfresco.
