All is said in the title, I know that the question seems bizarre, but the idea would be to allow societies that have an enormous quantity of document to track these archives (to know where this document is, who borrow it, …).
Is it possible in Alfresco, or is it not adapted (no electronic documents)? Is it better to develop a dedicated solution?
But you can use content modeling to store the equivalent of a library's index card, check out tickets etc. Store synopses of the resources? Store the cover image? And then use the query engine to find documents, look up who has what etc. You could use workflows to check out, check in and register new content. You could use WCM to manage your development of a web solution.
Alfresco may help you on your way to building a system.
Thanks for the tips. I'm a completely beginner, and in fact it will have a Bachelor work on this project. So I wanted to now if Alfresco can do it, the idea is not to follow the wrong way and falling in a unsolvable situation. However, what you mention seams to be some advance features. Seams it take a long time to master it :-/. 2 month will perhaps be to short.
