Hi,

Can Alfresco RM be integrated with external DMS repositories like Documentum, FileNet etc. The IDEA is to evaluate if Alfresco RM can be used to provide necessary records management features.

What is the feasibility of integrating Alfresco RM platform with any existing document management applications for acheiving records management functionality.

Any thoughts and expereinces ?

Thanks
Jay

I don't think its feasable.   You can probably use alfresco RM with different store implementations for example XAM, Amazon S3 or alfresco's own store.

However at the repository level there are too many differences between the various vendors.   Perhaps when CMIS evolves to have RM functionality then it may be possible,  but for now that's a long way off.

Hi mrogers,
It is possible to use RM inside of Share UI, i.e., not switching to another "records mgmt" website but using the featuers like declaring as record and all inside the Alfresco share UI itself?

Thanks,
Nidhi

Hello, anything new in this matter? I am specially interested in integration Alfresco RM with Filenet DMS as an alternative to quite expensive Filenet Enterprise Records.

Thank you

Yes In place records management is a feature of the newer versions of r.m.

There,s still no possibility of integration with file net.    Alfresco replaces file-net entirely.
