There appears to be a problem with the Alfresco 3.3 installer on Mac OS X (10.6.3). On the database setup page, the fields for the MySQL login and database name are missing. The only field that appears is the PORT number. Of course, trying to proceed results in a login error.

Thanks, in advance, for any help.

Agreed.
However, having the default database locally with user=root, pw="" the installer will create the database "alfresco" successfully.
However, my installer hangs at the stage "installing samples…", and has to be forced quit.
Starting the application after that seems to go on nicely but when accessing "localhost:8080/alfresco" I will only get a 404 - resource not found.
So, going back to manual install…
By the way, it seems to me the Bitnami image with 3.0.2 on a SuSE 512 MB OS runs a lot better in VMWare than a local install of OSX package. Java memory setting issue? Or just Java on OSX issue…?

I came across the same problem as you guys. The installation works fine if I choose Typical installation. When I choose Custom it hangs while installing sample extensions and the alfresco database is empty…
Is there a solution to this?
version 3.3 and 3.3g

Make sure mysql is running when you do the installation.

This is still an issue. I tried the custom install and it locked up on the samples installation step. I had to force quit.
I deleted the application folder and the database from MySQL and re-installed using the "typical" install step. It locked up on the finish panel with "view readme" checked.

Has this been raised as a bug in JIRA? If not, it's unlikely it'll get fixed.
Thanks,
Mike
