I downloaded and installed the Records Management per the instructions. Restarted the server, and do not see the Records Management dashlet. Any help would be appreciated. Is there a log file I can look at? Latest edition of Alfresco Community.

Thanks

For those who still have this problem, go to the file plan tab in the RM site and use your browser tools to see if there are JavaScript Errors, this was suggested by the Lead Dev.
I do have one in that page which may be the cause that the navigation tab doesn't show the File Plan folder and thus no access to the RM features. I reported this issue to the jira site https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/RM-586 so I suggest you check your browser tools ( example use google chrome javascript console found in the tools ) on the file plan tab in the RM site and report it in the issue i provided a link for, to try and nail the common denominator for this issue. Hopefully this will get resolved soon and we can all use the awesomeness of RM 2.0 Feats and try to tag in harder features such as custom record types.

Hi All,

Firstly, thanks for all the feedback.

It looks like there are some compatibility issues between 4.2.c and the last 2.0.1 release.  I will take a look into it and get back to you.

If you have successfully installed RM 2.0.1 and are having issues being able to create the file plan artifacts (for example record category, etc) .. then the first stop is to check that he user is a member of the RM Admin role .. by default the user who creates the RM site should be an RM admin user … check the RM groups for membership and add if necessary.

I've been heads down trying to get RM up to speed so sorry for not being around here to pick up questions.  Now we have some momentum I'll try and be more responsive.

Cheers,
Roy

I will paste here the fix for this issue posted by Tuna Aksoy in the jira site. Again thanks to the whole team for the swift response to the issue !

add the following lines

<@script type="text/javascript" src="${url.context}/res/components/documentlibrary/documentlist-view-detailed.js"></@script>
<@script type="text/javascript" src="${url.context}/res/components/documentlibrary/documentlist-view-simple.js"></@script>
<@script type="text/javascript" src="${url.context}/res/components/documentlibrary/documentlist-view-gallery.js"></@script>
<@script type="text/javascript" src="${url.context}/res/yui/slider/slider.js"></@script>

to  ( aka the directory where the tomcat server files are if you installed using the wizard it's /opt/alfresco-4.2.c/tomcat)
<TOMCAT>\webapps\share\WEB-INF\classes\alfresco\site-webscripts\org\alfresco\rm\components\documentlibrary\documentlist.get.head.ftl  using your editor of choice.

after this restart the server and it should work , and I verified the fix works so enjoy RM ! and looking forward to that RM 2.1 ! hope it comes out soon.

Disclaimer:

this fix is for ver 4.2.c if you have an older version and have issues this probably won't fix it. RM 2.0.1-147 was tested against ver 4.2.b  and some changes in 4.2.c's HEAD configuration lead to this issue.

Enjoy !

Hie Everyone, i am currently trying to enable RM2.0.1-147 on alfresco 4.2.c and i am having troubles. i went to alfresco bin in command prompt and ran the java -jar alfresco-mmt.jar install \Alfresco\amps\alfresco-rm-share-2.0.1-147.amp \tomcat\webapps\share.war -force command  but then i received an error 00300000 An IO error was encountered during deployment of the AMP file into the WAR.  When i go to webapps, the .War files have been backed up but there are also .tmp files. Oh, i also tried running apply_amps batch

Does anyone know how i can fix this.

Thanks in advance

I tried adding the script references you mentioned, both in the header.ftl file and (by suggestion of the deprecation comment in that file) in the main html.ftl file.  Still have no view of file plan.  I'll follow the JIRA mentioned earlier for when a fix has been released.

But thank you so much for dropping the hint that it was tested with 4.2b.  I installed that and I see the file plan just fine now.  I really didn't want to go back to alfresco 3 for this to work because I was never there to begin with.

By the way, why do we have to do "-force" for the share amp to install?  That's not in the documentation.  Is that planned to be fixed as well?

Thanks so much.  I'm glad to be on the road to putting RM through its runs now!

I was glad finding this posts and luckily the first hint to use „-force“ within the installation helped a lot, thanks a lot.

But unfortunately I tried the hint to fix the script-errors to be able to use the Fileplan functions and it doesn’t work. I’m using:
alfresco-community-4.2c
alfresco-rm-2.0.1-147
I added the mentioned lines above to ..\webapps\share\WEB-INF\classes\alfresco\site-webscripts\org\alfresco\rm\components\documentlibrary\documentlist.get.head.ftl

doesn't help, can't see any fileplan functionality..
Anybody any help?!?!?

Have been wrestling with this for a month now am trying to install  alfresco-rm-2.0.1-147.amp and alfresco-rm-share-2.0.1-147.amp into an Alfresco 4.2c community rollout on ubuntu 12.04.

apply_amps.sh -force works and I can see the directory named records management under the repository however the rm dashlet does not appear.

I cannot see any errors in alfresco.log or share.log

Any help here is most appreciate.

Found this post http://forums.alfresco.com/forum/end-user-discussions/records-management/community-32-rm-installatio...

It states that you add the dashlet from your dashboard not from a share site which was not something I had read or identified in any other documentation.

Hope that helps someone else
