Guys,

I've already spend three days trying to install Alfresco on Ubuntu. I finally got tomcat6 working, but from that point on, all fails. I tried to just import the WAR into tomcat but I couldn't start it.
Please, can anybody help me with a clear step-by-step approach?

Thanks in advance!
Cedric

Experience over a few installs says that you should take around 2h..4h to get up and running (mind you that's after a bit of experience & no complications).
There's been quite a good post on this recently - based on Postgresql http://forums.alfresco.com/en/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=39341&p=115259#p115259. I've tried his suggestion of LibreOffice but not fully tested/ convinced.
Also if you're working with Mysql then have a look at Mycroe's blog instructions http://blog.mycroes.nl/2010/04/installing-alfresco-33-on-ubuntu-lucid.html
I have fully worked notes for a regular Tomcat/WAR install but this forum doesn't support uploads.

Cheers, Sasquatch
