I was just wondering if anyone has any experience in importing stuff back into a new repository. I have 1.3.0 so I did the full repository export but know i don't know how to get all this back into a new repository. When I import one file say the user.acp all that happens is that the file is just put under company hope. But the users are not actually created. I looked at the wiki but that really did help either. So I was wondering how exactly do I recover.
I followed the exacy steps as in wiki..but nothing seems to work..can anybody help…the steps carried out were…
1. Full Export of the old data, Package name is 'Export'. 2. Installed a fresh copy of Alfresco in the new machine(that was recommended in the Export and Import document of Alfresco on Wiki) 3. Renamed the existing restore-context.xml.sample to restore-context.xml 4. Package name was kept the same. 5. Created directory 'Restore' within /alfresco/extension 6. Placed all the export files in the above directory. 7. Then started alfresco.
After following the exact process, I expected the old data to be imported to the new machine.
I assume that you only started the new Alfresco for the first time after applying the restore extension and the export files? As a full import can only work on an Alfresco instance that has not yet bootstraped.
I started new Alfresco for the first time and followed the same procedure, given for "Bootstrap dstination Repository from ACP files exported from Full Export"
Can you tell me why the import is not successful.
After that I even tried copying the old alf_data folder to the new one…but after that nothing works, I cannot even login as admin.
