Implementing customized behaviors

I don't know if this is the proper forum to ask this question but here goes…

I want to specify some custom code that will run when a document is checked-in, deleted, moved, etc.

Is that done with custom behaviors?  I found some PDFs from ecmarchitect written by Jeff Potts about custom behaviors but it seems very elaborate for what I want to accomplish.  Is this the only way to do what I want?  Is there a simpler way?  Can it be achieved by rules?

Thanks for any guidance!

It can be done with custom behaviours and it´s not hard. Once you have made your first custom Behaviour the next ones will be really easy. I also read the PDFs from ecmarchitect and they are a good guide to start with the behaviours.
