IE 8 Problems in Alfresco 4.2.d Share

I have no problems using Firefox or Chrome, but when I try IE8 on Windows XP SP3 or Windows Server 2003/2008 which is our current corporate standard I run into the following issues:
- On the Left Navigation panel:
  - The Folders list under Libraries does not appear
  - The Categories list does not appear
  - The Tags do not appear
- On the right side of the Document Library clicking on Edit Properties and nothing happens
- When trying to Create a folder from a Template, nothing happens when I click on the template to use.

I have tried add the site to run in the Compatibility View and this does not correct the issues
I followed the instructions in <a href="https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/MNT-2608">https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/MNT-2608</a> and this did not correct the issue.

Anyone have any further ideas? I have our IT guys looking into if this is a security issue within IE that is preventing us these features from showing up in IE 8

Any from Alfresco support that can add some insight on this? We haven't found any IE settings that would be causing this issue.
