Hi Alfrescoers,

I'm on a quest to find a solution to a rather frustrating problem:  Over the years, I've collected hundreds of personal documents on various PCs and I want to be able to put them all into a central store… tagged by a simple taxonomy of subjects - and indexed so I can also search by content.  Over the years, I've tried doing this using a vanilla file-system, but found that inadequate.  I'm trying to establish a simple document management solution that allows me to both find my documents when I need them - and to make suitable backups.  I was pointed at Alfresco -  it, previously, seemed to be a sledgehammer solution for a toffee-hammer problem… but I've drawn a blank looking at 'lesser' document management solutions.

Assuming Alfresco Community is a suitable tool to tackle this kind of problem - I'd like to install it on my existing server (which already runs several personal web applications).  I have found references to installations which just place the WAR file into a Java App server - but, despite concerted efforts, I can't find a download of the war file.

I gave my details and was sent links to installers by email, but no link to the vanilla WAR file.  Are WAR installs still supported?

Hello,

You will find the Alfresco Explorer and Alfresco Share war files in alfresco-community-4.2.f.zip which can be downloaded on this page :
