Hi:
Do you mean if your server 1 is using Encrypted Content Store ? I think that this is only available on Alfresco 5. In that case, check the alfresco-global and jmx properties in the link below:
Configuring the Encrypted Content Store | Alfresco Documentation
And, as additional documentation, check Alfresco Backup and Disaster Recovery Whitepaper:

Hello,
The short answer is that by default and as far as I know, no the Content Store isn't encrypted. It is now possible to do so with newer versions of Alfresco 5 but you can check pretty easily if that's the case of not (using the doc linked above or using the steps that follow). In case you aren't very familiar with how Content Stores are defined, you can still try to upload a new ".txt" document on Alfresco Share wherever you want. This will store in the database the metadata and the content of this file will be stored on the Content Store.
To see if the Content Store is encrypted, you can connect to where it is stored and browse the Content Store to find the file that you just added. Basically that's pretty simple since the newly added file should be under the following folder: $CONTENT_STORE/YYYY/MM/dd/HH/mm/. You can then copy this file to another location, rename it to "something.txt" and try to open it. If you can see the content, then the Content Store isn't encrypted.
