Hello,
I installed Alfresco on my Mac… I've accidentally installed Version 4.2.c instead of 4.2.f … I'm new to Alfresco and
watched the video tutorials and saw that the alfresco community version looked really good
(VIDEO: http://docs.alfresco.com/community/topic/com.alfresco.community.doc/concepts/community-videos-01.htm...)
in this tutorial compared to the version i had under http://localhost:8080/alfresco

so I uninstalled version 4.2.c and installed 4.2.f in the hope that it will look like it does in the video tutorial…
now when I try to access http://localhost:8080/alfresco I get this Error message:

HTTP Status 404 - /alfresco
type Status report
message /alfresco
description The requested resource is not available.
Apache Tomcat/7.0.52

It would be nice if someone can tell me how I bring it to work again and that it looks like in the tutorials…

Best regards
David

EDIT: Now I reinstalled 4.2.c and everything works again but it does not look as nice as in the video…

You should be able to follow the same procedure for installing 4.2.f as you did for the reinstall of 4.2.c. Just completely remove what you've installed, then run the 4.2.f installer.

Note, however, that the videos were made with an older version of Alfresco Community Edition. That could be why they look different. We think the 4.2 UI looks better than the 4.0 UI.

Another possibility for the difference is that you might be looking at the old JSF-based web client (http://localhost:8080/alfresco) instead of the modern web client which is called Alfresco Share (http://localhost:8080/share).

Yes that was the Problem, I was looking at the alfresco panel and not the share panel, but I'm experiencing another problem , which I have posted in stackoverflow and I think you tried to help me there… The point was that I have alfresco installed on my local iMac and I want to send an email to this Server but I have no clue which host I have to set for inbound email…?

Best regards
David

David,

Yes, saw that on stack and tried to help you. For others, the thread is here:
