How to upgrade Alfresco 2.9 to 3 Final

Please can somebody tell if he tried to upgrade Alfresco from 2.9 to 3 Final version?
Did you have any problems??

I have tried to upgrade from 2.9.0B (build 683) to 3.0.0 (build 1526), and I have had no success.

I also tried installing 3.0 from scratch, and importing content from Alfresco 2.9b, which Alfresco recommends against.  I had success importing users, groups and categories, but the import feature of the web client does not retain content-to-category associations.

We have decided to drop Alfresco from our web application architecture, because we cannot upgrade from 2.9.0B to 3.X, and we have serious performance problems with the content delivery components we have built using the Web Script API, Web Services API and Foundation Classes Java API.  We are beginning the process of migrating all of our content out of alfresco and into a custom built CMS.  We have been working with Alfresco CMS since version 1.4 was released in 2006/2007.  I hope you have a better experience than we did.

We've had the same (or similar) problem. We've ended up successfully upgrading from 2.9 to latest 3.4 - but the upgrade was not simple and required some Alfresco patching.

How to upgrade alfresco 2.9 to 3.4d ? I attempt to solve this problem for about 2 months and it's failed  .
