how to publish content

Hello All

I am new to alfresco and using alfresco community edition 4.2b.

Can anyone tell me how to create a channel and how i can publish a content to that channel.

There are few channels supported by Alfresco OOTB but if you want to have your custom channel you need to add some efforts.
