How to keep original file creation date

Hi there,

When I upload a Word document through the Webclient- or CIFS interface, the original creation date of my file changes automatically to the date of today. This is not what I anticipated. Is there any way to keep the original file date when (bulk) uploading? I need to upload financial documents from last year. If I continue the process it looks that all these documents are from july 2007 and this is really not what we want.

Regards,

Marc

Hi Guys,

For those who are looking for original creation and modified date, maybe you could use this tool from Peter Monks :
http://code.google.com/p/alfresco-bulk-filesystem-import/

Hi softbless,

From alfresco V.333 onwards , you can not make change in the created date .
Although you uses extractor ,  you cannot modify two properties  creator and created date.

Thanks,

Ok, so let me make sure I have this clear. If I have version 3.2 I can use the bulk import tool. If I upgrade, will it then no longer be compatible?

No.     You can set creation date on newer versions of Alfresco.   Whether you can use Peter's import tool is a separate but related  issue.
