How to customize the modeler.html page?

When we click the 'New model' in Model workspace, it open the modeler.html. It has powerful function to define the workflow.

My question is:  How to hide some element in the left tree?  for example,  I don't need so many types of 'Start Events',  just need 'Start event'. how to hide the other start events?

Please let me know where to update the source code. It will be much appreciated if you can provide some information about how the html page is generated as I only can find it includes some JS file..

The palette is driven by this file https://github.com/Activiti/Activiti/blob/master/modules/activiti-webapp-explorer2/src/main/resource..., but we don't currently expose any API's or tools to tweak that. Changing that would be manual + doing a rebuild.
