How to create and deploy a new workflow?

Hi everyone,

I'm new in the world of Alfresco.

I have a installation of Alfresco 4.2.c in a virtual machine with Ubuntu Server 12.04 (JDK1.7u7, postgres 9.0.4, tomcat 7.0.30).

I need to create a new workflow in Alfresco Share, but do not know how to do this, I have little knowledge of XML files (I worked in Activiti Explorer before work into Alfresco). How to create a new workflow in alfresco?

After the above, How to testing the XML file in the Alfresco Share? How to deploy the XML file in the Alfresco Share?

Besides adding new workflows, I would like to make more changes in Alfresco Share (i.e. edit forms).

Based on the above, please could recommend me how to start with workflows with Alfresco Share?
