How many file types are supported by alfresco?

Search for this file in your distribution:

mimetype-map.xml

It contains an XML configured list of the known filetypes supported by Alfresco - more can of course be added by modifying the file.

Also, to add icons for new filetypes, you simply have to add the 16x16 and 32x32 .gif file images to the following directories:

webapps\alfresco\images\filetypes
and
webapps\alfresco\images\filetypes32
