user tag in the xml , this is possible but you need java coding for this.
if you need answer to querstion : how manu wf-s did user checked ? then use aspect with one propertie witch will be counter .
if you need complex information than this from the book is a way to go .
ps: put log files inside alfresco repo and locate it with lucene.
