How do I get repository stats

Hi,
I am considering Alfresco for a project which will be used by employees as a reusable artifact repository. All kinds of documents - case studies, approach notes etc would be a part of it. One of the key requirements is that we should be able to report some statistics about the repository. For example, how many new assets were checked in? How many assets were downloaded? how many assets were submitted and approved?

Is there a way in Alfresco to get these type of stats?
