Hi,

I want to know how content archiving works in alfresco, if it exists?

How archiving is implemented, how is it triggered & where archived content is stored?

What do you mean by content archiving?

There's policy driven storage (So you can segment your content store) in Enterprise, is that what you are looking for?

Thx for reply.

I have 2 cases here:

1. My client which is doing feasibility study for alfresco, is concerned about its archiving capabilities for regulatory requirements. So he wants to get an idea how it is handled internally in case of DM & WCM only.

2. In my implementation, i have a portal showing related new article generated by web forms & these articles change per day basis. Now i want not to delete any of items but to kind of store them somewhere from where i can retrieve them as needed. What should i opt here?

Also can u elaborate a bit of following:

There's policy driven storage (So you can segment your content store) in Enterprise, is that what you are looking for?

Do you mean to say about alfresco Archive store or creating a separate space in same store & move content as per some rules etc?

Plz help.

There are two archival terminologies  -1. Alfresco has got a automatic archival feature where in the documents deleted will be kept in repo for 14 days(which is configurable) after deletion.
2. Policy driven approach from records management where in you will be able to create policies which will be applied over a document(->records) so that it will be preserved/archived for a period of time.
I think second is the option you are looking for!?
