Is it possible to have permissions on certain spaces/folders in order to prevent another user from accessing or viewing that project folder?

Yes, go to the "Manage Space Users" item on the actions menu.

Hi Gavin,

I was working on the same, by using manage space users.

But I have this weird problem the users which are given access to specific folder as "Consumer" have rights to even add content and all the options in more options.

Users who are consumers in the company space dont have all the options.

Also when you assign a user to a specific space, when he signs in he goes to that particular folder, but if he clicks on the company home he can access all the other folders, so the purpose is not solved.

Does manage space users have any other settings which I may be missing out.

Need your help in this.

Thanks
Akshaya

Permissions are inherited from parent spaces so it may be the case that a space in the hierarchy above the space you are looking at provides the user the permissions to see the other options.

To be sure turn off the "inherit permissions" option in the manage space users dialog.

Thanks Gavin,

Inherit permission was one reason, and I believe that when ever you add a new user or other wise, every space has everyone_group access has a consumer.

Even that makes company home accessible to other users.

For selective viewing to work, I had to delete everyone_group from manage user space and also uncheck inherit permission.

Now things are working fine.

Yes, you're correct that is the default behaviour and you have done exactly the right thing to restrict permissions.
