Hide a folder or file

I was wondering if Alfresco give the option to hide a folder or file from users?

If so, How?

It depends….

There is hidden which means that the file or folder exists but is hidden from Share, but could be accessed by some other method, for example ftp.   Or there are permissions,  if a user does not have read permission then they can't see the file or folder by any method.

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to hide a Thumbs.db from users. I don't want them to see it and think they can access it.

Thumbs.db should be hidden.
