Hi Guys,

I am a newbie here and would like to try to Alfresco for our small company with 25 to 30 users .

At the moment our filing system is dogs breakfast. Smiley Sad


i have downloaded

alfresco ,

jdk-1_5_0_15-nb-6_0_1-windows-ml  and mysql-5.0.51a-win32.

Now could some one please guide me in the rite direction to install this on XP Sp2 machine ?


I have dowloaded the installation guide and have been following it Smiley Happy

just wanted some word of advice before i could start installing it Smiley Happy


and some help while installing it Smiley Happy

havent had much luck installing this Smiley Sad


i installed the java, tomcat,

placed all the extracted files of alfresco in the root folder of tomcat.

now when i do a  http://localhost:8080/index.jsp

i get the following error

HTTP Status 404 - /index.jsp

type Status report

message /index.jsp

description The requested resource (/index.jsp) is not available.

Apache Tomcat/6.0.16

Have a look at http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Installing_on_Microsoft_Windows
The url will be http://localhost:8080/alfresco/ once you have Alfresco up and running.

Glad to hear you are on the right track!

I don't mind if you send a private message, but if you want a quicker answer post it to the forum. That way anyone that has knowledge and some spare time can answer and other with similar issues read and learn.

But first do a search in the wiki and forums. Many of your questions may already been asked.
If you do not find an answer, try to be as specific as possible. What is it you are trying to do, what was the outocome?
What version of Alfresco, what OS are you running on, database etc. Are there any errors in the alfresco.log, post them if so.
