'Groups' of Share sites??

We have a client that wants to have groups or families of share sites, let's say departments (with sites of accounting, finance, IT) and projects (with sites of website, portal, data warehouse, etc).  Is there a way to accomplish this in Share.  It seems as if there is not within the Share user interface, but I know in the web client you can created a new spaces based on the Sites spaces.  But then how do you access the new spaces through Share?

There's no concept of groups of Sites, no.

v3.2 does now have the ability to add authority groups to Site membership, which may go some way to helping your requirement.
