Hi! I'm interesting in details about Alfresco security framework.
In the OpenSource edition there is no Groups and Roles, but there are API, so:

1.   It is possible to do a custom implementation for Group and Roles functionality with LDAP support?
2.   It is allowed by license?

Thanks!

Hi

Sorry to miss this.

The answer to both is yes.
See the docs in the Wiki.

There will be support for LDAP authentication, people and groups in the enterprise 1.2 release.

Sorry, I haven't precisely formulated a question 2.

2. Is it allowed by OpenSource license? I.e. can i take Open Source version, add group based security and use it without any fee?

Hi

You can develop on top of the open source version, including adding your own groups implementation; and you can use it, under the open source license.

You still have to abide by the license.
Read the license and be clear what it means for you.
