I have a site in share that has a couple of groups as members, I would like to give one of the users in one of the groups Site management permissions but there appears to be no way to do this, I am unable to invite them and I cannot modify the membership.

Any ideas?

If you access trought de Repository you should be able to find the site and assign there the especific permission (SiteManager,Consumer, etc) to the user or group you like.

When you say through the repository do you mean through the Alfresco front end rather than the Share front end?

You do not need to access the Alfresco front end, you can do it from inside share, there you can find the repository icon on the top of the screen.
Can you see that icon?, if you can not , you have a problem with the icon visibility.

Thanks for your help, I was able to set the permissions I required using the Repository!

Although it doesn't seem to have actually worked, the permissions are set in the repository but do not seem to apply.  I'm trying to work round this by creating site management LDAP groups and giving those site manager rights.

That is odd, the repository alwayas work fine all the times I check.
I would advice to check the permission again, probably is an inheritence problem, cancel the inherit in each folder, and set the permission manually, then check it again

The LDAP group has worked fine so I think I am going to stick with that.  Thanks for your help with this.
