Google docs checkin 3.4

Hi,

I can create a new Google Docs document in Share, and then checkout this document into Google Docs. When I try to checkin to Share from Google Docs, the message "… is being checked in from Google Docs"  appears, but it doesn't go away.

The document does not get checked in to Share.

There is no alfresco.log file in my c:\Alfresco  directory.

I am using version 3.4.

Thanks.

Hi,

Just a couple of questions to try and dig into your problem a little further …

- As far as you could tell, did the document make it to GoogleDocs after the checkout?
- What type of document was it?  (document/spreadsheet/presentation)
- Was the document created from or uploaded?

There have been some fixes put into 3.4b community release that help to stabilise this functionality.  This release is due in the next couple of weeks so I would recommend upgrading as soon as it is available.

Cheers,
Roy

If you mean that it is not deleted from Google Docs when checked in, then it is this bug
http://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ALF-3066

When the document is checked out, the ownership in Google docs is transferred from the Alfresco Google docs system account to be the same owner as the owner in Alfresco.
But that means that when you check in the document, the Alfresco Google docs system account no longer is in control of the document, and fails to delete the document, and a copy will stay in Google.
The fix is scheduled for 3.4 Enterprise, but I hope it can make into 3.4.b, it just needs removing those 2 lines mentioned in the ticket. It may have other implications, but has worked for me so far.

The document makes it into googledocs after the  checkout.

The document is created via the 'Google Docs Document' link in the 'Create Content' menu.

Thanks.

Loftux, the main problem is that when you work on a document in Google Docs you cannot check-in back to Alfresco not that the document remain also in Google Docs after check-in.
This problem makes Google Docs editing useless while leaving a document in Google Docs is not that bad…

Sorry I don't understand.
Is the checkin problem in 3.4 a bug?
Is it working somewhere?

I'm probably being very rude here as this is slightly off-topic, but can anyone please elaborate on the steps required to get Google Docs integration working on Community edition (3.4b, nightly build from yesterday).

I tried to follow the instructions at https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http://wiki.alfresco.com/w/images/7/78/Getting_Started_with_Using..., but it is really vague.

Also - how / where can I enable debugging for Google docs integration.
