Google apps/docs extension

Our organisation uses Google Docs extensively to share documents outside the organisation (for editing), and to allow people within the organisation to edit documents simultaneously. So… I've been tasked with creating a work flow or actions or other means of checking out a document from alfresco to Google docs and back again.
I've seen a few mentions of similar projects, but nothing conclusive. Has anyone ideas on where similar things exist (that could be reused) or tips on how to go about creating it?

We'll be adding support for Google Docs in the next incremental v3.3 Community release, labelled v3.3g - due for release in a couple of weeks.

Can you give any more details about what this integration will do? There are lots of options with google docs.

Also how long before it is rolled in to the Enterprise version?

Fairly simple: you'll be able to "check-out" an existing or new document from Alfresco into Google Docs. After editing (with the usual Google Docs feature) you then check it back in.

Our office is currently running Al ent 3.2. The one thing we'd really like is to be able to have a stand alone editing function so that individuals can edit docs in real time or collaborate on docs on Al in real time without having to download and upload. I'm trying to find information about the 3.3g version but can't seem to locate any info… has it come out already? what functionality does it have? Is it like the Zoho Docs integration that allows for real time collaborative work? Interested to hear!
