Future Plans for 6UI?

I know with v5 UI it was just a 'demo' and not really meant to be used in the real world, but what about v6?  Will this be a fully functional UI intended for production use ( once completed of course.. I know its all beta ), or should we stick without own interfaces/portals instead?

Also, along the same lines for the the v6 BPM web designer, is it intended to replace the eclipse plugin at some point or will that be continued to be developed as well for people that dont use the v6 UI?

And a quick question about the v6 form designer, is there a way to create additional columns in the designer ( not hand editing … )

- No, it will still be similar to the v5 UI: a demonstration app. Our core focus is making the best engine possible, and that will remain the same in the future.
- The web designer will not replace the eclipse designer, they will co-exist.
- No, currently more columns is not possible.

We're getting a lot of mileage out of the V5 UI, and just did a detailed investigation of the V6 UI.  We're quite happy with it, and are planning to use it as a starting point for future work of ours which requires UI improvements.  Thanks for upgrading the UI to a modern implementation!

Is Activiti interested in taking pull requests for these UI improvements we plan to do?  I'd like for us to give back to the community.  Here are the features we'll need eventually:
- some process/task specific filtering/sorting story
– my first thought is the ability to specify sort/filter criteria as part of the form designer
– there may be some gotchas, but I think there is a generic solution for this
- parity with the V5 UI in terms of groups and work queues

Regards,
Rich

Alfresco does have a commercial product, see https://www.alfresco.com/products/business-process-management
There is an online version you can access here: https://activiti.alfresco.com/activiti-app/. The core of the open source web modeler is based on the same code.
