forum in alfresco

I saw a directory in webclient on forum, is it a future feature or something which is available at present? How do I enable it?

Hi,

You've found an "under development" feature.

The full featured version will be released in 1.2, early next year.

Alternatively, you can of course track it's progress in the nightly builds where it is enabled. You go to the Advanced Space Wizard and create a "Forums Space".

Thank you. This will be a very cool feature to have for dashboard. I just wonder if there is any development for some form of discussion be associated with document?

If you look at: http://www.alfresco.org/mediawiki/index.php/Forums_Design
It mentions a fm:discussable aspect.

Finally, any cmbject in the repository can be discussed by applying the discussable aspect. This new aspect will have an association or property that points to a forum.

You're absoultely right, there is a fm:discussable aspect which WILL (not implemented yet) be appliable to any cmbject in the repository. The UI will obviously be added to allow discusssions around content in the next few weeks.

The wiki page you have found is slightly out of date in terms of the model, please refer to <alfresco>\projects\repository\config\alfresco\model\forumModel.xml for the current forum model.
