Hi, I'm beginner in Alfresco, I have a week, I managed to create my own type of content and metadata do share.

What I'm trying to get now is this, I took several days looking for, but can not find what I need.

I want to create forms that once completed will generate an xml document, for example, in a specified directory.

I've seen webquick start, but I think it does not do what I need, I can get for example a xml form definition in a directory and is generated automatically form that can edit in web view created by webquick start, is this possible? It would be something like the definition of forms from Web forms.

All this is because i need that normal users (not developers) can make ours forms with easy fields.

I look orbeon, but i can't integrate with alfresco.

I hope you can advise me, thank you very much.

Do you have an example of a typical XML document that you're looking to produce? What do you want to do with the XML once you have it?

Thank you very much for responding.

Let me explain a little more, we have many templates that users fill out and send it to the person responsible for the store. The idea is to automate this process so as to fill out a form with the required fields and generate the document directly to the appropriate folder.

The fields are mostly text (name, address, incidence)

Once you have the xml I want to create documents or pdf.

Simple Example:
  Form fields
  • Antonio Cano

  • Sick to your stomach.
  • 11/02/2011

Result after processing the xml:
Antonio Cano The student is absent from class on 11/02/2011 for being sick to your stomach.
Anything more complicated would be the percentage of class attendance and subsequent aggregation of all the documents in a folder.
Would this be possible? I'm sorry but I'm pretty lost

I think that what you're looking for is related to an earlier question on this forum. Please would you take a look at this thread to see if it helps you?

Thanks for your patience

I read the post from the outset that you have told, and the application of a template for rendering the xml I understand and solve part of my problem.

other question, can be generated templates from docs. odt?

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean here.

Right, I think I understand. At the moment, if you want to just author purely in XML then you need to use the AVM part of Alfresco. This enables you to describe your content model using XML Schema and uses Chiba to generate forms for content entry. Using the AVM content is stored as raw XML. The core Alfresco content store allows you to define your content model using Alfresco's content modelling language, and enables much stronger search capabilities and content associations. It is typically straightforward to render content stored in this content store in many different formats including XML. This can be done using the Rendition Service (which stores the generated renditions in the repository) or using webscripts (which render on request).

Generally, I would recommend the functionality offered by the core Alfresco store over that offered by the AVM store, but if you must have your content authored directly in XML then you need to either use the AVM or integrate your own XML editing widget into the Forms Service. Alternatively, I believe that a few of our partners have integrated XForm-based editors with the core content store, so you could try seeking help in that community.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean here.

Thanks I'll look what you've recommended me

The other question you do not understand is if you could analyze a template openoffice, extract the fields to complete and once completed will generate the same document with the fields filled. jejeje is an idea if there is no way to do this.

Thanks for everything
